Purpose.
Everything in life has a purpose. I have completed 2 "Pay What You Can" sessions so far, with another one on the books for this weekend. I am often met with the question of "what in the world is it and why?"
Well Pay What You Can sessions, are simply that. You sign up for a session, and pay what you can the day of. I do everything I normally do for my regular priced sessions. You just set the price!
These events are scheduled as a way for me to market and grow my business, while also opening up the doors of my business to every budget. I pride myself on remaining budget friendly, but I also know all too well how hard things are right now. This is one small way for me to give back and say thank you. My business has grown so much in the last 6 months, and that is because of all of my wonderful clients.
I reflect back to last summer, June 2023, when I hosted my first Pay What You Can session. I was at the peak of questioning whether I really had what it takes to be a photographer. I loved what I was doing but could not secure bookings for anything. I managed to book 2 spots for my Pay What You Can Day in June of 2023. Here are some of my favorites.
June 2023 | The Brown Family
June 2023 | The McSwain Family
The purpose of my June 2023 Pay What You Can Sessions was growth. I wanted to be able to reach new families. These sessions helped with that, but it also gave me a confidence boost. These were some of the best pictures I had taken.
Fast forward to December 2023. My purpose changed. I decided to host another round of Pay What You Can Minis as an act of gratitude. Between November 3 and December 17, I was completely booked up. I served over 100 families throughout the "Christmas Chaos." This business was such a blessing to me and my family- so I decided to bless others. I hosted a Winter Wonderland Pay What You Can Day! It was planned as a 2-day event- but Mother Nature called it quits after day one. Day 2 was rained out. Below are some of my favorites.
So what's the purpose now?
The purpose now is simple. I want to continue growing my business, reaching further into our community, and making quality work available for everyone. Pictures last a lifetime.
Did you miss the sign ups this time for Pay What You Can Day? Stay tuned. I plan to host one each season this year.
